CLASSIC Whangateau, New Zealand 87 × 69 cms oil on board sold
I found these two nineteenth century vessels hidden away in a mangrove creek. No doubt they are somebody’s projects. I saw the extraordinary contrast of white and darkness as dynamics in this composition where the past is moored to the present by thin yellow nylon lines.
